Private Maths & English Tuition in London
KS2 & KS3
Lessons available online or in your home if you’re based in North or East London
If online tuition is preferred, I usually recommend an initial in-person session to establish a connection and build rapport with new students.
My tutoring goes beyond teaching the syllabus
Whether your child needs SATs prep, a bit of extra support, or is ready for more advanced challenges, my lessons are designed to help them achieve their goals and face new challenges.
So much of learning starts with the right mindset.
I encourage students to be curious and think critically, helping them steadily build confidence and approach learning with less worry. That confidence provides a foundation for progress – after all, whether you believe you can do something or you can’t, either way, you’re right. Together, we take small steps and develop a positive attitude towards tackling new challenges.
Lessons are designed to be engaging and interactive.
Each lesson is carefully structured to keep students motivated, using a mix of activities, real-world examples, and creative problem-solving. Lessons are divided into manageable sections that help students stay focused and excited to make progress (even those with shorter attention spans!). We refine techniques together, and steadily move towards their goals.
Every child learns differently.
My approach is patient, flexible, and tailored to each student’s strengths and development areas. We build on what they already know and strengthen understanding through practical exercises and discussion. Homework often includes SATs past papers (if applicable) or personalised practice tasks to consolidate learning, which we review together in the following lesson.
“According to Howard Gardner, there are 8 main types of intelligence: linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial-visual, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist.”
— Howard Gardner, Ph.D., Harvard Graduate School of Education, 1983
Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences recognises that children learn and express their understanding in different ways. Some learn best through numbers or words, while others connect with ideas through movement, visuals, or sound.
As a tutor, my role is to understand what helps your child learn, progress, and succeed.
My thorough knowledge of the curriculum allows me to present topics and skills in a variety of ways, helping your child connect with the material through the approach that resonates with them most. I guide students through their strengths while helping them make measurable progress in areas that may not come as naturally.
Every child has their own strengths and approach to learning. I take the time to understand how each student learns best and adapt my lessons accordingly.
I believe children learn best when they're intrigued, supported, and willing to tackle challenges, knowing mistakes are a part of their journey.
I specialise in finding creative ways to bring numbers to life, making abstract ideas easier to understand – whether that’s through playful patterns, visual tricks, or real-world connections – all designed to create that light-bulb moment when everything clicks!
